If you are based in Lancashire, your SME may be eligible for the FREE ‘Improving Your Resource Efficiency’ programme.

Improving Your Resource Efficiency is about saving money by using raw materials, energy, fuel, waste and water more efficiently. The programme provides a wide variety of support, advice and guidance on how you can do this.

Any Lancashire SME business can apply for a free Resource Efficiency Scoping Review which includes: 

  • A site visit to identify resource efficiency / cost saving opportunities.
  • A site tour to identify any other liabilities.
  • Recommended actions presented in a detailed report.

Further free support is available through Groundwork’s Resource Efficiency Club which offers ongoing, in-depth support, including: 

  • Advisor attendance at site “environment group” meetings.
  • A full workshop programme.
  • Access to specialist technical surveys.
  • Networking events at other company sites.
  • A free compressed air leak survey and report.
  • A use of energy loggers.
  • Access to a thermal imaging camera to find where heat may be escaping.
  • The use of a water flow meter.
  • Access to an online toolkit to calculate and monitor savings.
  • Case studies and assistance with award applications.

To be eligible for this free service, you need to be a Lancashire based SME business that has been operating for over 12 months and spend approximately £20k on one or more of the following: 

  • Raw materials.
  • Waste.
  • Water and waste water.
  • Electricity.
  • Gas or other fuel.
  • Vehicle fuel.
