Ashberry Recruitment

Category: New Business Start Up

Overview

Kate Mallinson and her business partner Jennifer Berry bring with them 14 years of experience in recruitment. Initial contact with Regenerate was recommended by a shared contact who was previously assisted by Regenerate Pennine Lancashire.

Regenerate’s Role

Kate and Jennifer attended a number of business start up training workshops and were awarded start up grant funding of £750.  Although the grant support was essential, it was felt the business benefitted most from the ongoing business support from their business advisor.

Tapping into support from a graduate placement scheme, they now employ a graduate whom they are currently training.

The business is now looking at the potential of diversifying into other business sectors due to some of their clients losing funding during recent spending cuts. Contrary to recent trends the business has remained busy throughout this difficult period already placing 30 of their clients into employment.

Impact

  • 30 People Placed in Employment
  • 3 Jobs Created (Plus 1 Apprentice)
  • £20,000 Private Sector Investment

Continued Support

Ashberry are very aware of the potential benefits of social media and developing their online presence. They continue to receive support from Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, through the Lancashire Innovation Network, highlighting networking events to further advertise their services, and their business advisor continues to assist them to build on established local relationships.
