Business Overview

Fundamental Coaching, the brainchild of 26 year old entrepreneur Kieran Fletcher, provides sports, play & educational coaching classes for children aged 2-11 through a variety of events and activities as well as resource packs for parents and schools.

The business has grown quickly since it launched in 2008, establishing a strong brand with its colourful ‘Funda’ character and mascot. This growth has expanded their market across Lancashire with their activities and education resource packs.

Regenerate’s role

The company was helped to start up through the No Limits funded support programme, a scheme that was administered by Regenerate Pennine Lancashire.

Kieran contacted Regenerate for help developing an interactive, user friendly website.  Regenerate’s Lancashire Innovation Network business advisor helped Fundamental create a detailed requirements specification and worked on an evaluation process to help the company find a suitable web design agency. The also advised how to make the site more interactive and easier to navigate for parents, teachers and community groups. The website also needed to be tailored so that it was easier to find using search engines and parents, teachers and key customers can book online. The project will be launched in December 2011.

Impact

Fundamental will be expanding following the launch of the new interactive website. Kieran has plans of piloting and launching their character Funda on television educating parents, teachers and children in their own front room.  As the website now supports strategic e-marketing and customer service, it is likely Fundamental will be expanding following its launch.
